Hypocrisy is a stench of the soul

We hate Trump they shout

they carry their placards and blow their whistles

the bandwagon is hurtling past and bodies are being flung onto it

Quick join up and save the decaying stench of my soul from the

decaying stench of my soul

Trump is evil they say

I cant believe my country is ruined they cry

Did you hear about palestine

did you hear some more gazans died

tumbleweed silence

Trump is evil they say

Trump will ruin everything they cry

Did you hear about the mosques burned to the ground

did you hear about the women in hijabs spat upon

Silence is a whistle blowing on the wind

drowning out never silencing the hypocrisy of the unexamined soul

Can you believe Brexit they say

Can you believe we have done this they cry

Have you seen the fat on those women they laugh

400 pounds overweight cant even see his own dick they sputter

Oh the shrill laughter echoes out like nazi salutes from a bygone time we hold onto

lest we forget

hypocrisy is a stench that eats away at the soul

devours you whole

but you dont even see it

have become it

never forgot it

march on street corners hoping to outrun the fevered mindless chattering within

hypocrisy is a stench of the soul

devours you whole

Back Home- Part of the Words and Pictures Exhibition at The Artizan Gallery, Torquay

Back Home

I’m frozen in stone

lost and alone

in this bubble we created

It served us once

And now it stifles

I want to break free

If I take the pick axe

If I cut myself free

Will I lose you?

If I take to the pathway newly formed

Will I find my way

back to the day

When you said goodbye

and I tried to stop you

Frozen in a glass of stone

lies my heart

I placed it there to keep it from falling apart

Not again

I said

Not this time

Not with you

I can’t lose

Not this time

Not you

But if it remains encased

How will I find my way home

back to you

Somewhere in a space we are yet to know

Lies our union

Our love

It’s perfect and untainted

by the memories

It’s unstained and clean

Someplace in a space we are yet to find

Lies all we are seeking

All we are wanting to create

Someplace in a space we are yet to see

Because our eyes have been glued shut by the sleep of fear

Lies all we have ever dreamed ourselves to be

It takes just one of us

You or me

to break free

to set the silence aside

and hollow out the stone

To retrieve the prize

To open the eyes

and see once again

with the vision of the newly born

with the vision of the ones who never died

who never lost

their way

I Can Be Anything Me- from "Untitled"

I can be anything me

Wondering if my skin will fit in

Slide to the side

Not recognised

A ruck sack on the tube

Will you sit next to me

Do I confuse and unsettle

Where to put me who am I

Like to call me names

Tell me my ancestry

With no idea of the family tree

Cut it down and reclaim it

Make it out to be what you name it

To be

What are you?

This country will never accept you

Says the man at the corner shop

In broken english

I can be anything you want me to be

I am the original chameleon me

Grew up in a house of fists and screams

Made me adept at not falling apart at the seams

So what a little upset

A dark alley way

A strange way

You look at me

Watching my moves

Looking at my curves

Making me feel like a piece of meat

Zigzagging as I walk home down my street

In case that look wasnt what I thought it was

Was what I thought it was

I can be anything you want me to be

I can blend in any place I need to me

I can be whatever I need to be to keep the peace to keep it calm to keep it safe to keep my space

To negate my race

I can pretend and refrain and deny myself my needs just so to be

This land my playground

This body my home

This face my homeland

This voice my own

This whatever that never fits in

This nose too big

This skin too olive or

This me not quite a fit for you, for this, for us, for ever for time for this land for who

I can be anything me

Re-Union - From The Beloved- Journey to Union

In the still whisperings of nature’s kiss
My voice sings out to your heart
Sending my Love and waiting patiently
When the moment to speak shall arise

For when the tides turn and the leaves turn golden
Will be the time to re awaken our Love
And dance with the abandon of youth
And the courage of the Warrior Spirit

We have lived but with one heart
Fed from the same plate of life’s experiences
Walked side by side and hand in hand
Felt the isolation and completion

From the farthest reaches of the Earth
You have travelled to meet my spirit
From the highest points of space I have watched
Your battles and triumphs

At the midpoint where our hearts shall cross
Shall we meet
At the midpoint where Heaven meets Earth
Shall we meet
At the midpoint where Love within and Love outside
Are One

We shall meet

For we have been in each other for all times
And have travelled many lifetimes in many shells
With the same beating heart
That has sung, and wept and rejoiced at a Re-Union
